The logbook of the ship Louisa details a shipping voyage from Sumatra to Salem, Mass., Aug.-Dec. 1806. During its voyage, the Louisa spoke the ships Caroline (out of New Orleans), Laura (out of Boston), Margaret (out of Salem), Marian (out of Philadelphia), and Solus (out of New York), and the brigs Eliza (out of Nantucket) and Messervy (out of New York).
